Well, continuing from the previous post about aromatherapy treatment for Alopecia Areata – after reading those articles I came to realize that doctors have little to offer me in my situation – with progressing alopecia, I had balding patches spreading on my scalp and chin, I let the rest of the hair on my head to grow so it will cover the patches and I shaved my beard obsessively so the blind spots wouldn’t be noticed. I don’t have to tell you how frustrating it is – I didn’t know when the hair loss process will stop or will it stop at all. In many ways it’s worse than having male pattern baldness – because here it doesn’t look natural, it has no order, it’s not even symmetric and it doesn’t contain within the head area only.
In general I act with reason and I don’t buy “miracle drugs“ and stuff like that, but here you have an experiment that was done strictly and according to all needed criteria for a valid scientific experiment (control group, test group, randomization etc.).
It’s autoimmune disease, stupid!
That’s the catch and the way I decided to interpret the conclusive results of the article is that:
- First, there’s a strong connection between the mind and the body and stressful periods in life are known to affect your body. Therefore, I started to investigate what’s there to change in my everyday life…my conclusion was that I need to take more brakes during the day, do some physical activity at list 3 times a week and take a walk in open air in most evenings. What it means is – more ventilation and relaxation to your body and mind.
- Second, herbal oils and some natural ingredients do provide remedy for alopecia and do not have bad side effects so I might as well try them along with transforming my everyday life to a bit healthier.
Combating Hair Loss – the war for peace
The treatment worked for me, the change came slowly but it was noticeable: after 2-3 months I noticed that the expansion of the spots has stopped. Then, over the next 6 months or so, the spots started to contract – the order was opposite to the way they appear. Meaning, the last spot was the first to disappear (FILO – First-In-Last-Out).
After I gained my hair back I try to maintain a healthier lifestyle to prevent the problem from reoccurring.
I hope that whoever reads this will find it helpful and encouraging.
